  • Run downstairs while peeling crusty's {is that even a word} from my eyes so I can slam a Benedryl down fur monkey #1 so she does not blow up like a       balloon at the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade! This is not our first rodeo with a bee sting.
  • Mother %88&55$@#$ trip on stupid ass toy on stairs and almost break a leg
  • Drug my dog and watch her for an hour to make sure her face is not swelling
  • Laughing with not at fur monkey #1 when she walks in wall because she is stoned from Benedryl
  • LDG wakes up and she is in a super ass foul mood - hurray
  • Get to gym....LuluLemon wearing dame in BMW takes my parking spot  - she then promptly gets one finger salute from bad mommy.
  • Elliptical machines are all packed I am stuck on stupid bike....Positive note I am once again working out next to Celebrity Chef Tyler Florence {drool}-This is twice now...and NO I am not stalking him he just happens to work out at same gym and I never notice until I am busting out some sweat that he is right next to me.....
Chef a Stud

  • LDG haircut just check out pic at start of blog it will explain all
  • Pediatrician 19 month visit LDG gets hit with 2 shots...and let the crying games begin
  • Chocolate protein drink busted in diaper bag - couldn't been vanilla...of course not!
  • Just paid a total of 60.00 for 2 pieces of fish am I insane?
  • Pull out of parking spot run over glass bottle..keeping fingers crossed tire is OK
Finally got home...LDG passed out from the shots, fur monkey #1 is all ok and mommy needs a nap and a glass of wine!
Fur Monkey #1 - I am so soooo high

Oh man I just.....

realized that it has come time to reel in my potty mouth. My hubby and I were sitting around last night and he looked and me and said in his most serious conversation voice.

"Honey I love ya and all but in the span of a 10 minute conversation, you dropped the F bomb about 15 times." I looked at him and said shut the f*** up I did not!"
Oh..... my oh my at that point I realized that I do have one serious truck driver mouth and it is time to clean it up. My little one is now at the point were she is repeating everything she hears and it would really SUCK if the first word she shouts out while were in the middle of a very quite Dr.'s office {cuz it would never be at the loud park or anything} would be the F Bomb*.  OMG...I am hyperventilating just thinking about it. Can you imagine the "looks" I would get from the good mommy's, when  bad mommy {that would be me} was trying not to laugh in the corner....because come on we have all heard a kid drop a bad word somewhere in our lifetime and most of  us have found it funny...I know...I know ***shaking my head***** it's wrong but it's so true...Let's keep it real!

This one is going to be hard...not gonna lie....I love my family but we have a habit of dropping the F bomb*along with a stream of other lovely bwords when we get together for an event/dinner it is like the set of the friggin Godfather a wholla lotta cussing, yelling and eating. That is just us.....

However things must change - I have made it a point and a goal not to cuss in front of my lovely daughter or for that matter to try and stop cussing period....I am going to make an old fashion cuss jar...Every time I drop one... in goes Mr. dollar bill.  I am.... sure......that jar will fill up in no time at all. Hey...it worked when I quit smoking and with the money I saved in that jar I purchased myself a Gucci Handbag..So it can't be to bad...right?

Happy Monday......

Lip Smackin' Sunday

Happy Sunday all. Well here we are again another week has come and gone. Were does the time go??? I mean I am already getting together my LDG's Halloween costume and before you know it I will be wrapping presents for Xmas the time just goes by to fast. Sundays is super lazy day at casa crazy and I look through my recipes to whip up something yummy for our Sunday dinner. Since I got a new
crock pot yesterday - I think we should start using it. Today would be a perfect day since the weather sucks and it is cold outside - yep folks brrrrrrr.....cold in August! On the menu

Braised Short Ribs - I have been craving these for months and since we as a family do not eat allot of red meat we decided to save this for a special time and Sunday is the perfect day. The awesome thing about this new crock pot is that I can sear my meat and cook it all in the same pot...I got it at William Sonoma the one place I should not be allowed to be left alone...EVER!

Recipe from the Food Network

Ingredients

6 bone-in short ribs (about 5 3/4 pounds)
Kosher salt
Extra-virgin olive oil
1 large Spanish onion, cut into 1/2-inch pieces
2 ribs celery, cut into 1/2-inch pieces
2 carrots, peeled, cut in 1/2 lengthwise, then cut into 1/2-inch pieces
2 cloves garlic, smashed
1 1/2 cups tomato paste
2 to 3 cups hearty red wine
2 cups water
1 bunch fresh thyme, tied with kitchen string
2 bay leaves

Season each short rib generously with salt. Coat a pot large enough to accommodate all the meat and vegetables with olive oil and bring to a high heat. Add the short ribs to the pan and brown very well, about 2 to 3 minutes per side. Do not overcrowd pan. Cook in batches, if necessary.

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.

While the short ribs are browning, puree all the vegetables and garlic in the food processor until it forms a coarse paste. When the short ribs are very brown on all sides, remove them from the pan. Drain the fat, coat the bottom of same pan with fresh oil and add the pureed vegetables. Season the vegetables generously with salt and brown until they are very dark and a crud has formed on the bottom of the pan, approximately 5 to 7 minutes. Scrape the crud and let it reform. Scrape the crud again and add the tomato paste. Brown the tomato paste for 4 to 5 minutes. Add the wine and scrape the bottom of the pan. Lower the heat if things start to burn. Reduce the mixture by half.

Return the short ribs to the pan and add 2 cups water or until the water has just about covered the meat. Add the thyme bundle and bay leaves. Cover the pan and place in the preheated oven for 3 hours. Check periodically during the cooking process and add more water, if needed. Turn the ribs over halfway through the cooking time. Remove the lid during the last 20 minutes of cooking to let things get nice and brown and to let the sauce reduce. When done the meat should be very tender but not falling apart. Serve with the braising liquid.

I want my damn...

house back. When did our home become the rehab haven for all things safety?  The other day I was on a baking/cooking  mission - I whipped up some pretty awesome brownies, banana nut bread and I had just started a homemade sauce for some Pappardalle. During the time I was in the kitchen I swear I had to lock and unlock my baking/ingredients drawer about 50 times which when you are as fast as I am in the kitchen this takes up precious time and will eventually get annoying. I have become MacGyver in order to make sure my little one does not get to the baking drawer finds the flour and decides to play snow day on my kitchen floor. Also with LDG's growth spurt she is now able to reach the burners on the stove which scares the crap out of me!

I am also being held prisoner by not 1 but 4.....4 baby gates on each level of the house including the sunken living room. Let's just say that our casa is not the most kid friendly.  When we bought it 4 1/2 years ago it was more of .....We are going to party/travel/work for the rest of our lives this is the kinda house we need  - not the holy shit I just got  pregnant at 40 we are about to have a kid kinda of house...So I am always on the look out for tumbling baby....Before LDG I was always on the look out for tumbling drunk friends....Ahhhh how things change in just a short period of time.  Okkk...and how many times have I had to pee so bad.....cannot figure out how those stupid knob locks ......work quick enough....OK.... TMI I guess I just needed to get that off my chest!

It amazes me what we do in order to keep our children safe and away from danger. I swear I do not remember having all of these things when growing up and I turned out just fine.  My hubby still thinks the verdict is out on that one.....

Happy Saturday

        Yesterday it happened......

The I feel gulity jumpy house

the worst possible thing that could ever happen to a paranoid first time mom..... I lost sight of my child for 10.2 seconds and lost about 5 years off my life. Yep I lost my shit in the middle of the local Babies R Us. And let me tell you I never ever want to feel that panicked again.....The seconds might not add to much but I tell you while I was looking for her it seemed like an eternity!

My little nugget felt a little better yesterday so I decided we wold take a stroll to to the GS {grocery store} yes...again...After the GS I decided to stop by the babies r us to pick up some supplies. I promised myself I would be in and out.....I never ever take LDH out of the store cart - just because some of these places are so huge, I am super paranoid and I do not want to take someone out with a punch if they mess with my kid...

Of course because it's me and this one time I decide to bend the rules a bit I get shot in the ass with the I told you so fairy. I decided it was OK for LDG to do some walking since she has been cooped up for the last week.  We were walking, I was holding her hand..... ok so far so good. Of course I spotted this super cute sweater  that would look great with LDG's new "beatlish" booties and I  let go of her hand for one second, one second....I look back down from the rack and she....is....not...there....were she was just 2 seconds ago. Calm...Calm.... I called out her name the first few times in a soft tone...no answer...shit....The second time around a little higher note....still no answer......Oh God.......the third time I yelled and I am loud! NO answer...Damn....no sight of her. At this point I am on freak out status! No one has noticed the complete look of panic on my face.

All these bad thoughts are running through my mind at about a million miles an hour...and I will soon be tossing my cookies in aisle 5 of the local BRU. Baby...baby girl were are YOU!  I then I hear a soft mommy, I turn around and there is my little demon seed inside the leggings rack with a big smile on her face while sweat is dripping off of mommy's forehead. At that point I was so happy to see her and so relived I picked her up and squeezed the shit out of her!  At that moment I also felt like the worlds shittiest mommy...I felt so guilty for what just happened I might have come home with a few extra things I was not planning on getting in the first place....a big ass jumpy house with rubber balls.....yeah so shoot me!

        Happy Thursday!

        Check out dinner...

from Monday night. I am totally behind updating my recipe corner. It is something I will be working on getting nice and pertttty this weekend. The salmon and halibut were so fresh...picked it up that morning from our local market that has an old fashion butcher and fish shop. We have two different types of fish because my hubby cannot stomach salmon after his unfortunate brush with the worst food poisoning ever with salmon. Hubby was in hospital for two days. Not fun.... So I made him fresh halibut. Little side of grilled asparagus and too keep it on the light side of calories/fat I like to dress it with a light olive oil and tomato topping. That eliminates the need of a tartar sauce.Which is a bigggg no no in this house!

        I mean really is there

anything else I need to say? Think not...It was a photo op I could not resist....Yep she is drinking out of the dog water bowls...FYI I disinfect the bowls daily...:0)

        Breath...Breath....Wusa

        Who meeee?

Why is it that a toddler has the massive knack to hide something of yours that is impossible to friggin find? What gives them the ability to take one of your most prized possession. In my case -  my only link to the outside world where I can speak to complete sentence forming human? And why or why does she hide my phone when I have the mute on so there is not way in hell I can call myself on the land line, follow the ring and BOOYAH there is my phone.....No.... oh.... No it could not be that easy.  To make matters even more interesting my land line receiver for the main floor has been MIA for the last month. We do not know were my little hoodlum in a dress hid the damn thing. I thought at this point I would have located it,  but my little one has a talent for hiding items and then looking at me with the "surprise" face when mama loses her shit.....!!!!!   Honey...do you wanna send mama to the loony bin???....white is not her best shade and I don't think a straight jacket would do anything for her figure....

I started this morning playing if I was a phone were would I be....while my little one followed me around the house with the annoying chorus of   "Mommy, mommy, mom, mom, ma, ma mommy"
Shoot me now..... After 2 hours of searching I finally  located my precious bundle of sweetness in all places my  baking drawer,  behind the whole wheat flour. Don't know how it got in there...don't care.....I have found it and I am happy.

Virus Day 6 - She is smiling and not drooling as much so it looks like she is feeling better....Does not want any solid food yet going to try a fresh blueberry smoothie this afternoon. My little one is looking a little thin...

Reality Crap Show I watched last night - Millionaire Matchmaker - Oh Patti you slay me and damn she is looking great - she is 50!

        Virus Day 5......

        Double chuggin'
        some drinks

today I was able to leave the house with my LDG...even though it was just for a very few minutes it felt good. I had to pick her up some items at the grocery store as well as some Pediasure since she has been unable to eat solid foods for now going on 41/2 days which is a long time. I feel for her because she wants to eat but because of the little sores in her mouth she is unable to. It is torture for any mommy to see her child suffer and be in such pain.

The drool has backed off a little bit more like a babbling brook instead of Niagara Falls....but it is still pretty bad. The drool is a good thing for I know she is not dehydrated. Today we played with some play doh..What the hell was I thinking....Play doh...really....I love the stuff....my dogs fur not so much.
LDG is no sitting on the couch watching Shrek...God I love that movie I never get tired watching it....I think it is  the 99th time I have watched the movie. She has chocolate Pediasure in one hand and water in the other....I just re organized my DVD drawer and I am wondering what I am going to do with all these 100"s of movies. We have cable HD channels so we pretty much get same day movie releases through our network. Mmmmmm what to do?

I am off to get some din din ready I picked up some fresh salmon at the market this morning {My little one LOVES salmon...believe it folks}. I am going to try and get some solid in my little monkey tonight. Keep your fingers crossed that this will work.

        Wish me luck..... Happy Monday!

        Sunday....let the games......

begin. Sunday is classified a family day at Casa Crazy...We hang out together as a family, play with dogs, go to park, we relax and enjoy each other....However my hubby knows that starting at 5:00 PT on Sunday it is garbage TV time {during football season I am the football widow - 2 more weeks to go before season starts}. So I am taking advantage of the situation.

I do have a schedule for the ones I am completely addicted to and Sunday is the banger beginning of the week of crap I  love so much...Sunday I start with the dreadfully tacky but ever loving group at

*Jerseyliciouse on the Style Network- I love this group because it actually looks like one of the shows that is not scripted. The tension and pure hatred between the two main "characters" Olivia and Tracy is unreal. I never thought that people could dislike each other this much. I got to give it to Tracy though the girl has got dreams and she is trying to get there through hard work and drive..Which is a rare commodity is this day and age...Olivia.... oh poor little Olivia the punching back for Ms. Tracy but she is scrappy she can handle it. This show is worth the watch just for the extremely tacky, tacky outfits! I am stunned that these ladies look in the mirror and are OK with what they are wearing.  Love GiGi...The rest of the group kinda fades in the background....

*Next is off to the lovely state of Texas with Rich Big Texas also on the Style Network - I have no idea why this one has captured my attention but damn it has {my hubby's too}. A bunch of rich, snotty women and their daughters who live in Texas and have a bunch of drama via {which seems to me} a very old school type of  country club which  I thought was extinct in our country. This is a show that makes you think twice before heading to get some plastic surgery some of these women look many years older than their chronological age. Moderation ladies.....

*We are then headed back to the Jersey for RHONJ on Bravo,  which quite frankly is getting old...Did not realize what a douche Teresa's hubby was, Teresa is just evil this season and you can just see the jealousy she has for her SIL Melissa. Jacqueline's daughter Ashley needs a good beating to snap her out of whatever BS she is throwing her family. I have never seen a more disrespectful child to her mother. And like the ever so cool, calm and classy Caroline said last night..."If Ashley had pulled what she did with me instead of her mother she would still  be holding the ice pack to her lips".  OH snap...love you so much Caroline!

*Last but certainly not least is the drama on HBO True Blood {obvi not reality TV or we would be in a shit load of trouble}. Whatever your views are on the Vampire/WW/Wicca jondra this show is well acted, well written and just unbelievably well cast. Also,  it does not hurt that this is pure eye candy for the ladies I mean I have made it a game on how many times the guys are shirtless on each episode and let me tell you if it as made into a drinking game your ass would be drunk in the first 1/2 of the show.

I am not going to apologize for loving my "reality crap" TV. I own it..I know many peeps that claim
"Oooooh nooooo I don't watch that stuff>"  and those same people - YOU know who you are....are the first ones to share what is going on with the show,  so spare me the I am better than that speech. I have a love hate with this niche market on TV.  I realize that many of these programs are super scripted but you know what it is my guilty pleasure and until some of these networks come out with something better it is what it is and I issssss happy!

        It is funny the.......

things that you get accomplished when you are stuck in the house with a sick toddler - Virus day 4
I feel like I am in the middle of a really bad horror movie...you know the ones were the whole town is held hostage by some horrible virus that was released in the air.
Well I am the mother who will soon be flipping her disco. And I am not pretty when I flip my disco....Bad...bad...things happen and allot of furniture gets moved.

By 8:30 this morning I had done the following:
        • Cooked breakfast
        • 2 loads of laundry in dryer next one in the wash
        • 2 furry dogs walked and pooped
        • Living room dusted and straightened
        • Fed baby with Pediasure the only thing she can eat because she cannot swallow any solids
        • Watched an hour of  my little pony -  wanted to poke my eyeballs out with a stick
        • Master Bedroom straightened and beds all made
        Late morning
        • Cleaned out my PJ drawer and hang out clothes drawer
        • Packed away all of LDG's clothes that no longer fit in the attic
        • Updating my blog
It looks like I will be riding the home magic carpet for a few days until my little one is completely virus free...DAMN YOU POOL!...... ok....relax breath..... just had a moment!

My little drool monster is now taking a nap so I will be doing some damage online shopping,  little one needs some new skinny jeans and since fall is coming up she needs some new gear. Fall is my favorite time a year for clothing and since we live in a climate were we seem to have no summer as of late she can sport some of her new clothing for the whole year.

People...I am bored and  going stir crazy, I am very tempted to dress up my dogs...this might happen..... keep and eye out for dogs wearing tutu's....

Oh roasted my famous no fuss whole roasted chicken last night! Came out awesome. Will list recipe Monday.

        Happy Sunday

        Foot...Hand......Whaaaattttt?

        Wasss uppp!

If you read Friday's post you all know that my usually independent sassy ass little toddler has been a big -  needy, drooling, no sleep MESS. She has been going through her teething spurts and this is the worst I have ever seen. I mean people,  I tried to take a pic of the drool that I have now classified as Niagara Falls just so you can see what I am talking about. It is hard to believe that that much spit and saliva is coming out of my child...I know..... I am using my child's misery to entertain the public...bad mommy.

Well....yesterday afternoon after almost an all day crying marathon I decided it was time to call the pediatrician to see if she could recommend another way to take away the pain and make it all better. At this point I had tried every type of medicine/drop and teething apparatus out there and I just could not stand to see her in that type of pain for another day. They told us to come in, they wanted to make sure that nothing was amiss especially if she had been in that much pain for 3 days.  Let's get this going and see what we can do to make sure my little baby is all good. We loaded up the car and got rolling.

We arrive at the pediatrician all disheveled and looking like crap from the lack of sleep hubby and I have had for the last three nights.  Pediatrician comes in checks all her vitals and finally gets to do the one thing we have been unable to do for three days get LDG to open her mouth so we can see what the hell is going on in there. Now I was expecting the pediatrician to tell us that her gums were swollen,  but I never expected her to tell us that besides the first prize of 2 huge molars and canines that were tearing through my babies gums but we had a consolation prize of the foot, hand, mouth virus. What the hell....what is that? I already had started to hyperventilate {Italians just worry...period..we make everything  out to be worse than it is}.... OMG my baby....

The pediatrician reassures me that this is nooooo big deal and most babies/toddlers get this at least once in their life time. If you do not know what this is it is a virus that causes painful sores in the mouth. Were could my baby gotten this type of gross virus...I have slight OCD with cleaning - I wipe everything down with Lysol clothes, I clean/dust everyday, sheets are changed once a week -  I take care and take pride in my home so of course I am mentally going through the list of where we had been in the past week. The pediatrician explains to me that this could have come from anywhere. The grocery cart, playing with other kids at her baby gym, the swimming pool this past Sunday -  which based on the time frame - I believe the pool is guilty - Damn you *shaking fist* cesspool of germs that made my baby sick!

I always forget that toddlers immune systems are not as strong as adults and they carry germs from one little snot to another {and I mean snot in the nice mommy way} and that if I take my child out to as many social functions that I do it is expected that she is going to get sick or in this case carry home an icky ass virus that has made her so miserable for the last few days.

Unfortunately there is nothing we can do but let her ride it out - there is not magic shot for this. We were told that the she should be better in the next couple of days.  I ran home right after the appt. and seriously began disinfecting every surface, every toy, bottle, sippy cup in my line of fire. Last night LDG slept with us something that is a big no no in our home but with the way she looked and was feeling we decided last night would be an exception. She tossed and turned in pain most of the night - at about 4 in the morning we moved her to her crib and she is now sleeping peacefully. I slept until 6 {which is sleeping in for me} got up..... looked at myself in the mirror and decided today I look more like a walking dead zombie than the creature from the black lagoon.

        Exxxxccceeelllentt *two thumbs up*

        Happy Saturday!

        WTF Friday.....

OK if you have been reading my posts/blog you know that I am not one to mince words and I am pretty blunt. So this Friday and maybe for the next few Fridays I will be doing WTF posts. If you would like to add something that bugs you or something you have seen that makes you go mmmmmm place it in my comment section. It will be interesting to see what erks other peeps out in blogger land. Below are the rant and raving of a mommy who has not slept for 2 days 3 days!

        • When I say I do not want to do a play date this week because my child is a drooling, crying, teething mess and mommy is a b**** on wheels because she has had no sleep....respect my wishes and don't hang up the phone on me because it was not what you wanted to hear....Yeah uh-huh.....this actually happened!

        • OK someone needs to put a warning on the damn boxes of any type of toaster strudel/popt tart{I don't usually make this kind of thing for bkfast} but a teething baby required drastic measures. I burnt the crap out of my hand-  the oozing glaze captured my fingers and would not let go...it hurt so friggin bad.....

        • Are you serious Abercrombie & Fitch.... really.......did you think that little Jersey Shore publicity stunt was going to work in your favor{stocks down 9%}. As "doucheylisciouse" the peeps of Jersey Shore are you they are still people and who the F*** are you to tell peeps were they can shop....I call discrimination something this company is very familiar with....Oh by the way you sell cheap TSHIRTS and Jeans...you are not Gucci, Chanel, Dior you know..... real designers so get over yourselves.
        • Kat Von D and Jesse James engagement back on....nuf' said
        • Teething why must these go in spurts wouldn't it be more efficient to have them come all at once?

        • Vampire arrest sparks discussion on pop culture - so this guy in Houston breaks into a woman's house and tries to suck her blood of course this sparked the stupid debate on how vampire books have an impact on our culture...listen the twilight "tween novels" did not make this guy go NUTS he was nuts in the first place. It is the same BS they tried to spin with horror  movies in the late 70's early 80's. When your nuts your nuts..listening to a certain type of music, watching a certain type of movie or reading vampire novels {if your a normal person} does not make you want to go suck someone neck for blood.  When your a loon bag it does...Capiche?

        • Baby sitter in Florida was charged with child neglect after being accused of allowing an infant to ride in the bed of a pick up truck in a stroller....Ohhh this is the kicker.... get this one when she was arrested she did not know why having a baby in the back of a truck in a stroller was wrong{the baby 8 months}. If you were taking care of my child and you did this I would have had to slap the stupid out of her!

        • Why or why do I love thy so much Jersey Shore......

        Thursday, August 18, 2011

        Have you noticed that.....

        Gotcha!

once you become a mom, mommy, mama and the ever dreaded {future} "MOTHER" that nothing you own or do is sacred anymore?  I have not taken a shower by myself since my LDG turned 12 months and started too stand on her own in the bathtub/shower. She knows how to take her clothes off un Velcro her diaper and she is ready for a water party.  My friends ask me why I do not lock the bathroom door, because my bathroom door has no lock we removed it when my little demon decided it would be..Ohhhh....let's seee.... so much fun to lock mommy out while she went through all my cosmetics - RIP Laura Mercier Lip Glaze in Bare Beige and Chanel Les 4 Ombres is Vanites....Auughhhh!

I have sat on the toilet doing my business while my toddler and 2 big ass dogs watch{I know creeeeepy}.
I love to cook & bake but I have had to become a gymnast in order to mine field my way around spilled blocks, pans and cooking utensils. Have you noticed that as mommy's all we do is pick up shit? Day and night all we do is pick up crap from the floor? Pfft...... then my hubby wonders why I am cranky when he gets home..!!!

My dresser drawers have become a circus of fun for my little one and chaos for OCD mommy. She has  found her way to my sacred, sacred purse closet and tossed out every pair of earrings and accessories as far as the eye can go! Last night all was quite on the second floor, so I knew something was aims and lo and behold there was my little bundle of sweetness amongst half of my ballet flats she decided to remove from my closet. Gotcha you little bugger.....Ahh the joys of motherhood!
