Shake...Rattle...Roll....

Northern California...Nothing like getting a mighty bitch slap on a Monday morning from  mother nature. We had  a nice little boom of an earthquake. It was not a biggie by California standards {4.0} but damn this one was a friggin jolt. Got my ass out of bed and running to my daughters bedroom like quick. This one freaked the shit out of me even though it was low in magnitude. I guess because now it is not just about me but a precious little human being I am responsible for. Living in the Bay Area you kid of get used to the shakes...shit this is the first one I have personally felt since I moved to this house almost  6 years ago. We are very very lucky that our home is on total hard core rock and not land fill so we have not felt a whole lot. We shake on a daily basis so it is hard to keep up but in the last few months we have had some pretty good  rumbles on this particular fault line which means pressure is releasing however as we all know mother nature is finicky so anything can happen and we could definitely get hit hard here......soon. After going through the 89 biggie of an earthquake I find myself saying what the hell am I still doing here but you know what no matter were you go mother nature has a way of striking in her own particular way and NoCal is just to beautiful not to want to live here.  All I know is I am prepped I have all of my supplies including a mini toilet and a bunch of water. I know need to get my camping gear in the same spot. So I feel good that we are prepped.

While I am running from my bed to GG's room I looked at my dogs sleeping away on the bed and I was like WTF guys what no warning?

Ahhh nothing like an exciting Monday morning to get the week started off right......

I grew up in Illinois outside of STL. When I was about 20, I moved to Washington state and we had about a million earthquakes. I had never experienced anything like that and it really freaked me out! We do have tornadoes in the Midwest, but it feels like you know they are coming and can prepare. An earthquake just comes out of nowhere and happens too damn fast! Glad you guys (and your stuff!) is all good!

Any amount that a house shakes is too much! Glad you are safe!

Yikes! I've been through a few earthquakes--a 7.0, a 5.3, and a 4.3 or so. And even the 4.3 was CRAZY. Earthquakes are terrifying. Glad yous guys are OK!
