What used to be....

What stares at me while shaving legs

my little slice of heaven... My very own mini spa bathroom, my little heavenly cloud of happiness has now being over run by my 18 month years old's "stuff." I am talking so many damn bath toys and things that I feel like I am talking showers with some very perverted duckies and dolphins.  What used to be a place for me to go and take a bath, relax and catch up with a good book is now a reahb center for toys gone bad....I miss the  way I was able to hang out with a face mask and not get interrupted..... ahhh those days are SO over.  My hubby heard me bitch and complain the other day and he is like - "Mama we have a master bathroom over here you know..you can move in anytime you want".
Yes.... I do have a master bathroom {which we just had remodeled} but since my little bathroom has become my oasis of  the only alone space in the house I just don't what to give it up...is that so wrong? Also their are some things that I do as a woman that I just do not want my man to see or know about..you know whatta mean? However I must accept the fact that once LDG hits the old 2yr old mark and I will be redecorating her bedroom/bathroom I will be permanently kicked to the curb and my tiny oasis  will be forever gone......*dislike*

Wahhhhhhhhhh

I used to look....

somewhat cute and pretty presentable in my past life{BB - before baby}, but in the last few months I have taken a step into the yoga pant whirlpool and I cannot seem to get out of it. I used to work in the fashion industry before becoming a SAHM so this whole black yoga pant thing is kinda getting to me. I used to sport some great looking designer gear, hair all nice, make up always on and it is really pissing me off that I have gotten off this path...but what is a mama supposed to do? I mean really...I get up...get into my work out gear, work out, run errands right after the gym, run to some LDG activity,  get home, get the lunch ready for LDG, shower then I am right into yoga pants. I could get into my nice jeans and tops...but for what? So I can cook/bake and get all my really nice clothes dirty with eggs and EVOO stains...don't think so! I mean I do not look like a total wreck but I am not as spiffy as I would want to look.

Maybe because as a mom your always tired, add the taking care of hubby/house/2 dog/dad {I do not know how working moms do it} it can kind of get to you sometimes and you just do not feel like primping up to stay at home....I know I should look "pretty" for hubby but you know  what we have been together for 12 years he married me for better of for worse and sometimes he is just going to have to take the worst....I am wondering how I am going to snap out of this? Auuggggghhhh am I doomed to be in yoga pants forever?

Ohhh how much do I love you

I worship Jeffy

Jeff Lewis.  I have loved this man from the first time hm and his crazy team have hit the Bravo's airways{Flipping Out} almost 5 years ago. Is it his quirky sense of style with his black and white chucks or is it that I can relate to his OCD ways. Is it that he tries to be hard ass but deep inside he is a big ol" softy. I love his homes so sterile and neat. His esthetics's are amazing I love his combination of brutal honesty, impeccable designs and sometimes a little TMI especially when it comes to his employees!
I look forward to the weekly craziness that is his life. I do love me some reality TV but I can miss a few episodes and be fine. With Flipping Out I must see on the night the new episodes come out and yes I will watch the re runs over and over again. ......I am that much in love with this show. I have now heard through the gossip hot line is that he will be premiering a new show on...of course....Bravo called Interior Therapy with Jeff Lewis. Jeff and Jenni will go into peoples homes and do what Jeff does best - redesign and take care of business without crossing the line...yeah right!  I heard Zoila will also be along for the ride. This is going to be one crazy ass ride..... - can't wait so excited.

Achoo....cough...achooo....

Ohhh ohhhh those are not sounds you want to hear coming from your toddlers bedroom late at night. Walked in last night and....let me seee mmmm.... yep just what I thought...the cold LDG has been trying to fight off for the last week has finally bitten her in the butt. She sounds like an aardvark and her eyes are all puffy, sure sign she is not feeling well.  I  gave her some water and decided to place the humidifier in her room to help her breath last night. I awoke this morning to a still puffy but a little less congested toddler. She definitely is running a small fever and is super needy which is not my usual  independent girl. I also did not jump out of bed with my usual pep in my step this a.m., I am feeling a little run down so it could be this summer bug that is making the rounds at all the little ones activities {Man.....these little ones just bring home whatever little germ is hanging around}!
And the one thing I dislike more in life is being sick. It sucks! I get nothing done and I feel non productive and super lazy which I am not.

But I need to make sure we are both 100 percent for I am planning an event this weekend, I am part of a name ceremony and godparent to my new niece. This will be the second time around hubby and I were bestowed this honor..So looking forward to it.

Top it all off this lovely weirdo out of schedule Tuesday morning - I was making an egg white scramble with yellow bell peppers and completely cut through my fingernail with my awesome chef knife. I knew these puppies were sharp...... but damn it hurt! It is throbbing like crazy..so this morning I am down one mommy, one toddler and a finger.

OK mommies I am going to try and make it a great day!

Ciao.....

The Power of the Bottle....

runs deep in this home. I am trying to ween LDG off her damn "baba". It is proving to be a much harder task than expected. LDG never took to the pacifier, does not need a special blanket but when it comes to getting her to sleep  she cannot get too sleep without that bottle. She does not suck on it the whole time she is sleeping she just seems to need it to fall asleep. It is only for her milk no other beverage. She will drink water and vitamin water in a sippy cup/straw cup. I am wondering if I will be sending her off to high school with this baba. I have tried every type of "bottle that looks like a bottle but is not really a bottle out there".  The latest one worked for a minute. Hubby and I placed her in bed the other night, and gave her the new bright orange sippy/bottle....

Mmmmm....... no sounds coming from her bedroom...OMG could it possibly be this easy...Hubby and I are looking at each other with these dopey smiles on our face....... job well done.....Then we hear what sounds like a prisoner draggin' their tin cup along the jail cell bars, and then a chuck and a thud on the hardwood floors. Yep...our little darlin' figured out this was not her beloved baba!  Hubby and I were both tired this night so we decided to just give up...something we should have NOT done but my hubby has been killing himself at work and he was not in the mood to her cry herself to sleep. We are also going to start potting training soon and we need to start curbing the amount of liquids she receives at night. I am so scared. This one has us stumped because quite frankly everything else has been pretty easy breezy with LDG - but it looks like "babagate" is definitely going to give us a run for our money. Are we ready for this?!?

Wish us luck!

Feeling the love......
