comments from my bloggy friends. I am not one to "toot" my own horn but I am going to give myself a tiny "toot" for my daughter's wardrobe. Everywhere we go I get compliments on her clothing and shoes. So this is the question. I have quite the selection of clothing that my little one has worn maybe a top of 3 times and some items that still have tags....***Shaking head**** I know I am bad. The items I would be selling via the blog would be her outside clothes/shoes so they are in good condition. There would be pics and description of all merchandise.
The question I have - would you purchase lightly used good for your daughter via the web?
Honest opinions please
Thank you in advance for taking the time to respond.

Honestly:
I am usually not one to buy used clothes from garage sales, thrift stores, etc. This is because of my fear of not knowing where they have come from/who was wearing them etc. Call me crazy, snobby, or whatever you must, but it's always been my thought.
HOWEVER. I DO NOT MIND used clothes if I know where they come from/who was the former owner. I have clothes swap parties with my friends all of the time. I gladly accept clothes for my wee one if I know where they are coming from. So -- if you were to sell the items through your blog? I think that would be perfectly fine (in MY opinion) because people get to know you through your blog... So, if I had a little girl, and I saw something VERY cute on your blog for her, I wouldn't hesitate to grab the deal. :)
Have a good day!
I buy almost all of my children's clothing and shoes from garage sales, thrift stores, consignment sales or even off Craigslist.
If you don't want to deal with shipping and packaging you could list the stuff you want to sale on your local Craiglist site.
There's also online trade up sites that I've just learned about. You ship off a box of stuff, earn points and use the points to "buy" a box of clothing from someone else.
Anyway, in answer to your question. I would have no problem buying slightly used clothes via the web although my preference is to buy them in person so I don't have to deal with paying shipping. I also prefer to see the items in person before I buy them. Just my preference.
I don't know that I would buy off of a blog but I might. Personally, I use Thredup.com

You can get some great stuff and know that you're getting a good deal for your child's clothes.
Good luck!

i wouldn't but simply because my daughter is like yours and so obviously doesn't need clothing and/or shoes. my mom spoils her rotten and i just packed away at least three summer dresses she never wore...
good luck! i am sure there are plenty who would...
Everything Stephanie of Gumdrop Pass said...
But I have a little boy so I won't be purchasing, however, good luck!
Hope you can off-load some of her things :)
I think it's a great idea, when you get to know bloggy friends, they are actually friends, just online :)
Hmmmm...it would honestly depend on what it was and if the price was right. Etsy has a bunch of cute slightly used "vintage" little kids clothing that I've been known to peruse over, but I haven't actually bought anything...yet
I am not sure I would from a blog either unless I had followed (and talked to) the owner for a while. I have bought gently used for my son off of ebay and was not disappointed but don't do it much otherwise. Good luck though, with today's economy you should have someone interested.
I looooove used kids' clothes. Even though I am a ridiculous germaphobe (hey, one wash cycle on hot and they're good to go). But that said, I usually go to the Goodwill or Value Village so I can pick and choose in person. The only used clothing I've bought online was holiday/party dresses for my kids. So yeah, I'd choose a consignment store over purchasing online. Just my two cents. :)
