Rut. Hey guys I know that most everyone out in bloggy land has gone through this but I am in a RuT with blogging and I cannot seem to snap the f*ck out of it.......It is not that I am running out of things to say HELLO...it is me for hell's bells but I am in a rut when it comes to what the hell I need to do in order to get some more visitors to my site. I mean the hits are still OK but not what they used to be. Now I know some of that is because I have not had the time to go out there and do my trolling thing. I thought that with GG in preschool part part time I could do more but I have found myself busier becasue I am involved with her class and I am doing some volunteer work. I also have noticed though that the blog hops are not s active as they used to be and I am sorry to say but most of the blog hops have become weak and no one seems to actually write anymore.
Most of these blogs have become like big old advertisement and posts about merchandise..What happened I thought when you had a blog you were supposed to write or did I miss the blog memo??? Now a little bit of contests/giveaways are fun but when the whole damn thing becomes one big advertisement I don't see the point.
What I want to know is what do you guys do to get some more traffic over to your site that does not requires selling your soul to the giveaway devils?????
Stay fierce and much love your very discouraged Mommy Bags

I keep waiting for you to give something away!
I just keep hoping they will come! I try to get out and visit.
I just try not to care about it anymore and write like nobodys reading... Because its more fun that way and that's why I started it... For myself to look back at
Hey I agree with Ana, I don't care anymore about finding new blogs or gaining more readers because I have my regulars that I love and adore (you're one of them!) and I have just enough time to keep up with 30-40 fave blogs and that is all I am interested in. In the beginning I cared about followers and traffic, but now that friendships have been established I don't go trolling anymore, I am content with what I have. Each to their own of course, but to me, I would rather share with people who are genuinely interested in my posts and who actually comment, not just join my site and never return!! Much luck to you friend xoxo
i gave up on hops and such -- find that you gain followers but not readers. i just hope that someone stumbles upon me -- but twitter/a blog fb page/instagram help a lot to get my blog out there.
as far as a rut -- i hear ya, i wonder how many running/workout updates i can post without boring the piss outta the few who do read. so i try to put a non-typical post in every now and then. i wrote one on what photo apps i use today. and i always got a HUGE response from crockpot/cooking posts. you're a master baker/foodie -- maybe a once a week/month feature regarding that???
xxoo
Well... I have no clue what to tell ya. I get about 15 visitors a day and I suspect 14 of them are me. (You are the other one, I think.) I do agree that most blogs are nothing but reviews and giveaways. I actually took my PR link down and funnily, I get more inquiries now. I don't want my blog to be a big ad unless it's something I love.
Thank you so much for always reading and commenting on my blog, btw.
I used to worry about that too but now I don't bother checking. I used to do hops and giveaways but I prefer readers to anyone who just follows for numbers. I've also been in a rut lately. With Buggy in school and working pt, volunteering and everything else that needs to be done I'm just exhausted but I do what I can. This blogging thing is a lot of work.
